What is an active patient?
An active patient in Almendra is anyone with an appointment or meal plan in your current billing period. See who counts and why in the Patient Report.
Updated August 12, 2024
A patient is considered active if they have had a consultation or a meal plan during the current billing period.**For example:**Suppose you joined Almendra on March 10. This means your billing period runs from March 10 to April 10.
You have seen John, Lucy, and Kyle between these dates. Kyle came to your office twice, so you had 4 consultations in this period.
Since you had 3 different patients who had consultations, you have 3 active patients. If the same patient had 4 consultations in a billing period, you would only have 1 active patient during that period.
The same applies to eating plans. However, since eating plans cover a span of days and not a specific moment (as is the case with consultations), if you have an eating plan that spans two billing periods, the patient will be considered active in both periods.Using the same example, imagine your billing period runs from March 10 to April 10, and on April 2 you create an eating plan for a patient. On April 2, that patient becomes active. Furthermore, if the eating plan runs from April 8 to April 14, the patient will be counted as active in both periods, as they had an eating plan during both periods (March 10 to April 10 and April 10 to May 10).
You can access real-time information about your active patients. Simply go to the “Patients” section and click on the button in the top right corner called “Patient Report.” There you will see the date when the patient became active and the reason (whether it was related to an eating plan or a consultation).

We hope this cleared every doubt you had about active patients. If you still have questions please contact us through hola@almendra.io
