Body composition
Skinfold body fat calculator
Enter the skinfolds measured with a caliper and pick the equation. You get body fat percentage, the sum of skinfolds and, if you add weight, fat mass and fat-free mass.

The skinfold sites asked for change with the method and sex.

Frequently asked questions
How to measure and which equation to choose.
Which skinfold method should I use?
Use the equation validated in a population similar to your client and stick with it. Jackson-Pollock was developed in men aged 18 to 61 and women aged 18 to 55, Durnin-Womersley in adults aged 16 to 72, and Yuhasz is used with the 6 ISAK skinfolds, mostly with athletes. Switching equations between visits can move the result several points without any real change.
How do you measure a skinfold correctly?
Measure on the right side with the client standing and relaxed. Grasp the fold between thumb and index finger, place the caliper 1 cm below your fingers and read it after 2 seconds. Measure each site 2 or 3 times and use the average, or the median if you took 3.
Why doesn't it match my bioimpedance scale?
They are different methods with different errors: bioimpedance depends heavily on hydration, skinfolds on technique and equation. To see change over time, always compare with the same method.
Next step
Record skinfolds at every visit and follow the trend
In Almendra you log skinfolds and girths during the visit, choose from 14 body composition equations, and compare results visit by visit.
